Each of these vases is hand-formed from stoneware clay with skill and care. Painted with a variety of brightly coloured glazes, the vase’s ladies wear their traditional headscarves in typical African fashion.
Glazed inside it will not leak and there is cork on the underside to prevent scratches on your table.
“UBUNTU ngumuntu ngabantu”
It is a complex Nguni word that means “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity, "I am what I am because of who we all are.”
In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. The Ubuntu vases with their women holding hands in a spirit of Ubuntu, represent this philosophy.
